Manchester United are close to wrapping up a deal for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Developments are moving as Manchester United look to complete a deal for Cameroon international goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Onana reported for pre-season training at Inter Milan today, with supporters begging him to stay.

This looks unlikely, with Manchester United and Inter holding ongoing negotiations through the day to attempt to reach an agreement over a fee.

Fabrizio Romano update on Andre Onana

Having stated overnight that Thursday was the ‘crucial’ day for negotiations between Manchester United and Inter Milan, it seems everything is heading in the right direction.

This evening he wrote on Twitter: “BREAKING: Manchester United are now closing in on André Onana deal as final verbal proposal has been made during talks today.

“#MUFC Understand it’s €50m fee plus €5m add ons. Structure of add ons being discussed then… done deal. It’s imminent, as expected.”

Less than an hour earlier he had posted: “Talks have been very positive today for André Onana to Manchester United… and it will continue tonight. The deal is very, very close to being completed.”

The fee reported calculates at £42.7 million plus £4.27 million in add-ons, reaching almost £47 million in total.

This comes in slightly below the £52 million Inter were looking for, and would be a good price if United can get it all agreed.

Erik ten Hag priority is goalkeeper position

Manchester United released David de Gea earlier this month and a new goalkeeper is a priority signing.
