Matheus Cunha sends emotional message in exit hint amid Man United transfer interest this summer

Manchester United are targeting Wolves star Matheus Cunha, who may have dropped an exit hint on the eve of the Premier League curtain-closer

Manchester United target Matheus Cunha has posted to social media thanking supporters after being named Wolves’ Player of the Season.

The 25-year-old could play his final game for the club at Molineux against Brentford on Sunday amid reports suggesting that he is closing in on a move to Old Trafford.

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this month that United are set to approach their Premier League rivals and discuss payment of the Brazil international’s £62.5million release clause in instalments.

The MEN reported at the end of April that the Wolves star was hopeful of making the switch to the North West.

Chief Manchester United writer Samuel Luckhurst followed it up earlier this month that that Ruben Amorim’s side were targeting at least three priority signings in the upcoming transfer window and have a confidence that they can strengthen their forward options without the need to sell.

Cunha is among the list of targets, as well as Ipswich Town talisman Liam Delap – who has been identified as a prime target for United after his exploits for the Tractor Boys during their ill-fated return to England’s top flight.

The 25-year-old has had an impressive season for Wolves after almost single-handedly taking them clear of the relegation zone after finding themselves in a battle to beat the drop.

He scored 15 goals in 32 appearances in the Premier League, turning provider six times, and his exploits earned him a personal club accolade.
