Manuel Ugarte learns timeframe for Man United deal to be agreed as fresh bid rejected by PSG
Before the summer transfer window closes, Manchester United is still looking for a new midfield player, and they are getting close to signing Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain.
Before the summer transfer window closes at the end of the month, Manchester United still has a lot of work to do.
The Red Devils have made significant investments in improving their defense this season, but they still need a new midfielder and have been linked to another defender after last season’s failure to establish depth proved vital.
If head coach Erik ten Hag is to add additional players, like Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain, he will need to keep cutting players off the periphery of his roster.
United announced the sale of Facundo Pellistri to Greek giants Panathinaikos yesterday in a deal worth an initial £5.1million plus a further £1.7m in potential add-ons.
Pellistri’s departure is the first of several anticipated over the coming days.
A deal for Ugarte could come down to whether United must make further sales, according to Sky Sports.
Talks are reportedly ongoing between United and PSG over the signing of the midfielder, with a broad agreement on many aspects of the deal being “close”.
While both clubs want to complete a permanent deal, a loan with an obligation to buy is still a possibility.
Ugarte has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
However, any deal remains challenging if United don’t make sales. Thus any transfer is set to be completed closer to the end of the window.
