Man United told to move on from £82m-rated signing as verdict reached on Brazilian star

Ex-England ace reckons Brazilian winger Antony could be on his way out of Old Trafford because he simply can’t deal with the physicality of the Premier League

Joe Cole believes Antony’s time at Manchester United is up because the Premier League isn’t the right fit for him.

This season, Erik ten Hag’s team has only seen the Brazilian winger make one fleeting league appearance. In the final moments of their 2-1 loss to Brighton last month, he came off the bench.

Even in his third season at Old Trafford, the £82 million acquisition from Ajax has not been able to make an impression on the team.

This term, Antony has slipped in the standings behind players like Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Amad, and he now seems to be a supporting cast member.

Ex-England star Cole said: “The problem with Antony at Manchester United is I think he’s a player that is perfect for the Dutch league.

“I think the physicality of the Premier League is something he struggles with. He’s a talented footballer with great technique and skill, and it was good to see him playing well against Barnsley, but I don’t see him making an impact in the United starting team this season and I can’t see him turning it around at Manchester United.”
