Man United ready to come close to Bayern’s asking price to sign Superstar Defender after Everton’s Stance on Branthwaite

Manchester United have had a productive summer transfer window with a couple of signings.

According to Sunday Express (page 72), Bayern wants £45 million plus add-ons in exchange for the Dutchman, but United isn’t willing to match that amount. It’s anticipated that their most recent offer will come close.

Negotiations with other teams have been put on hold as the “full-blown superstar” informed his agent that he simply “wants to join” the Red Devils.

The recent graduate of Ajax is adamant in signing with Paris Saint-Germain, much like Manuel Ugarte.

He has already reached an agreement for a five-year contract. Given Everton’s attitude on Branthwaite, United seems likely to sign De Ligt.

Leny Yoro, a high-profile acquisition from Lille, was officially verified by United.

In his non-competitive debut against the Rangers, the 18-year-old wonderkid looked outstanding.

Erik Ten Hag, however, could wish to sign another experienced centre-back with potential so that he can ease the pressure of expectations on the highly-rated youngster.

De Ligt appears the likely solution ahead of Jarrad Branthwaite. The Toffees have closed the door on selling him for less than £70m despite their failed takeover.

In our view, a transfer for De Ligt could be delayed until the final days of the transfer window. United may want to recoup some funds from player departures first.

Victor Lindelof is on the radar of Fenerbahce and he could be offloaded in the near future.

The future of Harry Maguire has also been put into question, but Ten Hag is more than happy to keep him next season after his brilliant attitude and form last term
