Man United plotting Audacious £170m swoop for Napoli superstar duo open to Old Trafford move -Report

Manchester United are interested in Napoli duo Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Alessandro Buongiorno, as per reports.

This summer, United and Napoli were forced to negotiate as the Red Devils decided to let go of Scott McTominay, who has rapidly become an important member of Antonio Conte’s team.

It seems that United executives are now planning to raid the Naples-based team. United dispatched a delegate to observe Napoli play Empoli over the weekend, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Premier League powerhouses kept a close eye on Buongiorno and Kvaratskhelia in particular. Both players had encouraging performances as Napoli won 1-0 to take the lead in Serie A.

Buongiorno, 25, delivered a resilient defensive display to help his side keep a cleansheet. Meanwhile, Kvaratskhelia, 23, scored the only goal of the game from 12 yards.

However, it is not going to be easy for United or any other suitor, for that matter, to sign either of the two Napoli stars.

It is understood the Italian giants, who are known for being tough sellers, are working on extending Kvaratskhelia’s contract.

The Georgian star, who has scored four goals in eight league games this term, is tied to the club until June 2027. The left winger’s wage demands have supposedly become a hurdle in Napoli’s pursuit to secure his long-term future.

Further, it is being reported that the player’s representatives want a buyout clause, which could be around €100m.

Meanwhile, the Italian central defender is expected to be valued at more than €70m by Napoli, who only added him to their ranks in the summer. As such, any suggestion of a possible move to United for the pair should be taken with a grain of salt.

Moreover, United are unlikely to jump into the transfer market anytime soon for a left-winger since they have Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho vying for the starting spot. The Mancunian giants also strengthened their backline this summer by signing Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro
