Man United player ratings vs Liverpool with two 9/10s in huge victory at Anfield and the very first back-to-back win for Amorim
Man United won 2-1 against Liverpool in the Premier League and here are how the players rated at Anfield.
Manchester United won 2-1 against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday
Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring within just two minutes. Liverpool pushed for an equaliser and hit the post three times through Cody Gakpo, though the Dutchman finally got his goal with 12 minutes of normal time to play to make it 1-1.
Both sides pushed for a winner and it was United who came out on top as Harry Maguire restored their lead in the closing stages.
Senne Lammens
Was playing the biggest game of his career at 23 and wasn’t intimidated by the Anfield atmosphere. He built on his confident debut and released pressure by sending goal kicks long. 8
Matthijs De Ligt
Got his head onto everything in the first half. He is the only United player to play every single minute in the Premier League this season and he showed why at Anfield. 8
Harry Maguire
Amorim started Maguire because of his “experience” in big games and his ability to deal with crosses. Maguire didn’t let his manager down on his recall to the starting XI. 9
Luke Shaw
Although there have been question marks about Luke Shaw this season, he expertly marshalled Liverpool’s £125million signing Alexander Isak and showed his composure at some crucial moments. 8
Amad
Unplayable at times in the first half and struck fear into Milos Kerkez whenever he got on the ball. Provided the assist for the opening goal and should have recorded another when Bruno Fernandes hit the post. 8
Casemiro
Casemiro was not expected to start after playing 90 minutes twice for Brazil during the international break, but he demonstrated why he has become one of the most important players in the dressing room again. 8
Bruno Fernandes
There have been questions about Fernandes’ suitability to the deeper midfield role, but he performed at Anfield again. He started the move for Mbeumo’s goal and captained United to a first win at Anfield since 2016. 8
Diogo Dalot
Was the weakest performer in a white shirt in an excellent first 45 minutes for the team. The full-back was still on the winning side. 7
Bryan Mbeumo
Mbeumo calmly celebrated in front of the Kop after firing United into the lead just two minutes into the contest. Constantly looked dangerous when combining with Amad down the right. 9
Matheus Cunha
Recalled to the team after moving to the bench against Sunderland. Some questioned Cunha’s work rate during his time at Wolves, but there was no sign of a reluctance to run at Anfield. 7
Mason Mount
Always works hard for his teammates. Mount worked tirelessly again and received warm applause when he was substituted in the 61st minute. 7
Patrick Dorgu
Made a good challenge after being introduced to a raucous Anfield. 7
Benjamin Sesko
Showed his skill and gave United a focal point in the closing stages. 7
Kobbie Mainoo
Arrived late on. 6
Leny Yoro
Came on with Mainoo. 6
