Man United player ratings as three get 3/10 vs AFC Bournemouth after 3-0 surprise defeat at Old Trafford

Here are the players’ ratings at Old Trafford after Man United’s last Premier League match before Christmas, where they were defeated by Bournemouth.

On Sunday, Bournemouth defeated Manchester United 3-0 in the Premier League.

United gave up another set piece, and Dean Huijsen’s header put the visitors ahead in the first half.

Early in the second half, Noussair Mazraoui’s late challenge on Justin Kluivert resulted in a penalty.

After Antoine Semenyo added three more minutes later, Kluivert sent Andre Onana the wrong way to give Bournemouth a 2-0 lead.

Here are how the players rated at Old Trafford:

Andre Onana

Took an eternity whenever he had the ball in his hands or at his feet. Well beaten for all three goals. 5

Noussair Mazraoui

Got an early earful from Ruben Amorim and moved to the wing in the second half after Tyrell Malacia went off. Committed an imbecilic foul to give Bournemouth a penalty. 4

Harry Maguire

Uncomfortable on the ball amid Bournemouth’s pressing and the windy conditions. All at sea, like every United defender, when Antoine Semenyo made it 3-0. 4

Lisandro Martinez

Startled by Bournemouth’s aggressive pressing and not remotely composed on the ball. Should have been taken out of the team. 4

Diogo Dalot

Back on the right yet no more effective in attack as United continue to struggle with full backs doubling as wingers. 4

Manuel Ugarte

Tried to break up play but Bournemouth’s game plan dealt with Ugarte effectively and he was booked for a deliberate foul. Sacrificed as United chased the game. 5

Kobbie Mainoo

Failed to build on his recent encouraging substitute appearances and not as sharp on the ball. Should have come off with Ugarte and gifted Bournemouth the ball for their third. 3

Tyrell Malacia

Substituted at half-time in his third start out of four. Not at it from the start and clumsily conceded the free kick Bournemouth scored from. 3

Bruno Fernandes

Went close a couple of times as he embarked on a shoot-on-sight policy. Frustration got the better of him as the game drifted away from United. 4

Amad

Had an early shot saved and teed up Fernandes for his best chance that he hit wide. Should have scored from a cut back in the second half. 5

Joshua Zirkzee

Barely marked Dean Huijsen when the centre half stooped to put Bournemouth 1-0 up. Not intense enough up the other end and subbed after losing an aerial duel. 3

Subs

Leny Yoro

His teammates gave goals away. 5

Alejandro Garnacho

Squandered a presentable one-on-one. 5

Rasmus Hojlund

Had a shot go wide. 5
