Man United Make Contact Over A Potential Deal For €60m Rated Serie A Centre-Back, Club Handed Major Boost In Pursuit
According to latest reports in Italy, Manchester United have contact to striker a deal for Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are keen on reinforcing their defence ahead of next season and the Brazilian is a key target on their list.
Gleison Bremer played at various Brazilian clubs in his initial years before moving to Torino in 2018. After proving his worth while playing for Torino, he signed for Juventus in the summer of 2022.
He has constantly improved year after year and has now become a constant feature for the Old Lady
This season, the Red Devils have struggled a lot with players’ injuries, especially to defenders.
The club’s results have suffered due to a lack of depth in defense. Therefore, the English club have prioritized reinforcing their backline this summer.
According to TuttoSport (via The Hard Tackle), Manchester United have made contact with Juventus defender Gleison Bremer to talk over a potential deal this summer.
The Red Devils have been tracking the 26-year-old centre-back defender for quite some time now.
The report claims that the club have scouted him on multiple occasions and are in constant contact with the player’s representatives.
Moreover, the Red Devils have already drawn up an offer of €60 million (£51.4 million) for the Brazilian defender, as reported by TEAMtalk.
Additionally, in a major boost for Manchester United, Juventus are already looking for a potential replacement for Gleison Bremer.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport (via MEN), the Old Lady are preparing a move for Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori in the upcoming transfer window. If Juve manage to secure the Calafiori signing, it will open the door for the Brazilian to move to Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old defender still has four years left on his current contract with the Italian giants. However, the financial situation of the Bianconeri is not good and selling the Brazilian will help them to raise funds to reinforce their squad as a whole.
On the other hand, the Juve centre-back has also been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar for a while now.
The Spurs have made a promising start under new manager Ange Postecoglou and the board is likely to back him. The Australian wants to add a top-notch defender to his ranks.
There is no doubt signing Gleison Bremer will be a massive upgrade for Manchester United. He is one of the most highly-rated defenders in Italy at the moment and adding him to the ranks at Old Trafford will greatly improve the defensive line ahead of next season.
Given his consistency and technical expertise, there could not be a better and cheaper option than the Brazilian.
However, signing him will not be a cakewalk for the Red Devils with Spurs closely monitoring his situation. So, let’s see where does the 26-year-old end up after the summer transfer window
