Man United identify “outstanding” Joao Neves Alternative due to £100m Asking price

Adam Wharton earmarked as an alternative should Man United fail in their Joao Neves pursuit

Erik ten Hag’s preferred midfield duo of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro struggled for Manchester United last season as they were unable to adjust to the manager’s new high-transition style.

Joao Neves of Benfica has been mentioned as a major target by the Red Devils despite his expensive release clause because they need to reinforce in the middle of the park.

Midfield reinforcements
United had even submitted a €70 million offer for the teenager but the Portuguese club ended up rejecting the offer and now INEOS have decided to move on as per a recent report.

The Old Trafford side have already signed Joshua Zirkzee and are currently trying to close the deal for Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich.
