Crystal Palace would prefer to sell Marc Guehi instead of Michael Olise
Crystal Palace favour offloading Marc Guehi over Michael Olise amid interest in their services from Manchester United.
According to a report from Give Me Sport, Manchester United are looking to reinforce their squad in the summer, and they have their eyes set on Crystal Palace duo of Marc Guehi and Michael Olise.
While the Red Devils are keen on the pair, the Eagles have no intention of losing them both in the same window and would prefer selling the centre-back instead of the winger.
Guehi and Olise both joined the Eagles back in the summer of 2021. They have gone from strength to strength since moving to Selhurst Park.
The duo has established themselves as an integral part of their first team, and their consistent performances have not gone unnoticed.
The 23-year-old centre-back’s consistent performances have also helped him earn a place in the England national team.
The Englishman, who pockets £50,000-a-week wages, made his return from injury in Crystal Palace’s 4-0 win over Manchester United and will look to make a case for a place in the England squad for the upcoming Euros.
While Olise has not broken into the French national team yet, the 22-year-old right-winger is a star in the making.
Injuries have limited him to just 17 league appearances this term but he still has nine goals and four assists.
The duo is on the wishlist of Manchester United, who are looking to make major changes to their squad in the summer.
Their new part-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and his group, INEOS, have already made a lot of changes at key positions in the club, and they are now planning to execute their plans in the transfer window.
They feel Guehi and Olise could both be perfect fits for Manchester United and are planning to test Crystal Palace’s resolve. But, according to the report the Eagles have no intention of sanctioning the departure of the duo in the same window.
Oliver Glasner, who took charge of the South London outfit earlier in the year, wants to have his star players at his disposal as he prepares for his first full season with the club.
But, to have enough funds to reinforce their squad in the upcoming transfer window, they could sell one of them.
The Eagles would prefer to negotiate Guehi’s departure instead of Olise’s. While the 23-year-old centre-back has been a very important player for them, they are ready to offload the £50,000-per-week star for £50 million
