Louis Saha has urged Manchester United to sign Leny Yoro this summer. The 18-year-old centre-half has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League recently as he continues to impress for LOSC Lille in the French top flight.

Yoro, who sees his contract at Stade Pierre-Mauroy expire in 2025, has burst onto the scene and enjoyed a meteoric rise to superstardom this season. The France Under-21 international has featured 25 times in Ligue 1, helping Paulo Fonseca’s side keep 14 clean sheets.

Not only has Yoro played a crucial role for Lille domestically but he’s also helped Les Dogues progress into the Europa Conference League quarterfinal. Next month, Lille will face Aston Villa over two legs in the quarterfinal – and the teenage defender will be looking to impress.

According to Fabrizio Romano, as quoted by CaughtOffside, Manchester United have been monitoring Yoro’s progress – and they’re big admirers.

With the Red Devils said to be in the market for a new defender this summer, Louis Saha has told Betfred four reasons why the youngster would be the ideal replacement for Raphael Varane.

“I think he could have an immediate impact if he moved to the Premier League because he’s a big boy, very confident, technically and quick,” said the former Manchester United striker.

“He has all the ingredients that a modern day centre-back possesses.

“It’s incredible how trusted he is at his age and I’m sure he could adapt very quickly to the Premier League. Raphaël Varane moved to Real Madrid when he was 18 and Yoro is a similar type of defender that brings calmness to a defence.

“With the right manager and the right teammates, he can have an amazing career. Yoro’s a really exciting player and I’m sure that Manchester United won’t be the only club looking to sign him.”
