Patrick Dorgu, a 20-year-old Danish defender, signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Red Devils before the transfer window closed in February.

Manchester United reached an agreement to pay £25 million for Dorgu, and if add-ons are fulfilled, the Red Devils could pay Lecce a further £4.1 million.

Since joining United from Primeira Liga team Sporting CP in November of last year, Ruben Amorim has been without viable wing-backs to carry out his tactical scheme.

Man United’s FA Cup debut is made by Dorgu. By playing Patrick Dorgu out on the right instead of his normal left wing-back position, Ruben Amorim shocked Manchester United supporters.

The 40-year-old United manager is without Luke Shaw due to injury and Tyrell Malacia left Old Trafford and signed on loan for Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

However, Amorim opted to play United right-back Diogo Dalot at left wing-back and Dorgu was the right wing-back for the FA Cup tie against Leicester City

Dorgu was lively in the first half at Old Trafford and the Denmark and United defender wasn’t afraid to commit to the attack and showed off his confidence

The Red Devils failed to make an impact in the final third in the first half and Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men took the lead before half-time on Friday evening.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid opened the scoring at Old Trafford and Amorim then made another big call during the break and ahead of the second half.

Amorim withdrew Dorgu after only 45 minutes and United star Alejandro Garnacho was brought on for the defender after the break
