Man United eye Jarrad Branthwaite transfer alternative as personal terms ‘agreed’ for move

The most recent rumors and news on transfers involving Manchester United, as Erik ten Hag has reportedly expressed interest in one of his former players.

As the transfer market heats up and Erik ten Hag wants to bolster his team in preparation for the upcoming campaign, Manchester United is still being linked to players.

With Raphael Varane leaving, center-back is still a position that United is evaluating.

The defender Mattijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich is one of the names that has been connected to a move to United. United is reportedly “seriously considering” making a deal for the center back, according to The Athletic.

The Netherlands international is currently on international duty at Euro 2024, but has been an unused substitute for all three group games so far.

He will hope to get some game time when the Netherlands take on Romania in the last 16.

United are said not to have started any negotiations with Bayern over a potential move, but De Ligt has emerged as a concrete target.

He has previously worked with Ten Hag during the duo’s time at Ajax.

The defender has three years remaining on his contract with the German club but a deal is said to be cheaper than other options, including Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite.
