Man United can correct Erling Haaland transfer mistake with huge Champions League scouting plan

Manchester United are reportedly interested in three RB Salzburg players.

Erling Haaland used to play for the Austrian team, who are known for nurturing young talent.

Furthermore, a number of prestigious European teams are reportedly keeping an eye on the Austrian team’s academy players, including United, according to Fussball.

The German publication added that United is reportedly keeping an eye on teenage defender Samson Baidoo as they look to add to the promising young defender they signed in the summer, Leny Yoro, who is presently injured.

The center back, who was born in Austria, is a mainstay in Die Roten Bullen’s defense and has already played for the national team.

In the attacking thirds, Oscar Gloukh is reportedly being monitored by Erik ten Hag’s side after several encouraging performances under former Liverpool coach Pepijn Lijnders so far this season.

The progressive midfielder has registered three goals and two assists in four Austrian Bundesliga appearances so far this term, which adds to his 18-goal involvements last season.

A third player the German outlet has suggested United are interested in is Adam Daghim, but at 18, he may take a few years to realise his potential.

The Danish starlet featured just once last season but has already played five league games under Lijnders this term.

The youngster has been known to play as a winger or a centre-forward with versatility at the centre of his game. His directness and willingness to take on defenders is said to have caught the eye of several clubs, including United.

Of course, comparisons between the youngster and Haaland have already been made, given his appearance – standing at six foot two inches and the fact he is from Scandinavia.

However, at the same age (18), Haaland was further developed and was already leading the line for the Austrian side, where he scored 29 goals in 27 games before attracting the interest of Borussia Dortmund after just a single season with Salzburg.
