‘i will join Man United on one condition’ – Osimhen has made his feelings clear on Man Utd transfer as club ‘plots huge bid’ for striker
Victor Osimhen has previously spoken about a potential move to the Premier League and Manchester United amid reports of an incoming bid.
During the summer transfer window, Osimhen was heavily linked with a move away from Napoli, with the likes of Chelsea and Al Ahli both showing interest in the prolific forward.
In a shock twist, the Nigerian ended up moving to Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray on loan.
However, with the January transfer window just around the corner, it has been reported that Osimhen could leave Napoli on a permanent deal.
It has been suggested that the 25-year-old has a mid-season break clause in his loan deal with Galatasaray, meaning he could make a move to a new club.
As reported by Spanish news outlet Fichajes, United are plotting a huge bid to meet Osimhen’s £62 million (€75 million) release clause to lure him to Old Trafford.
Apart from the Red Devils, it has been said that both Chelsea and French giants Paris Saint Germain are also in the race to sign Osimhen.
In previous years, Osimhen has often been linked with a move to the Premier League due to his impressive numbers at Napoli.
So far, the striker has netted 76 goals in 133 appearances across all competitions for the Italian outfit.
In 15 matches for Galatasaray this season, the 25-year-old has 12 goals.
Back in 2022, Osimhen was being linked with a move to Old Trafford, when asked about the potential transfer, he told Italian outlet Il Mattino: “It’s one of the best clubs in Europe and I want to win here (Napoli). The future is this moment, try to win something relevant in Italy.
“It’s hard to think about something better than Napoli, one of the best clubs in Italy, right now I am only focused on this season because we haven’t done anything yet. We must win something and then we’ll see what happens.”
When asked about the Premier League last year, Osimhen told Corriere Della Sera: “I think it is an ambition of all players. And who knows, one day.
“Right now, I assure you, it doesn’t even cross my mind. It would distract me from a beautiful season. [I’m thinking of] Only Napoli.”
