I will Join Man united on one condition – Fermin Lopez responds after Manchester United submit £25m bid to sign Barcelona midfielder

Fermin Lopez insists he is ‘not interested’ in his links with a move to Manchester United and wants to remain at Barcelona.

After making his Barcelona first-team debut in August of last year, the 21-year-old went on to have an outstanding breakthrough season, tallying eight goals in La Liga. Subsequently, the midfielder earned a spot in Spain’s Euro 2024 roster.

On Monday, he made his only appearance for the national team when he entered the game as a second-half replacement in the 1-0 victory over Albania.

According to rumors in Spain, Manchester United, which made a bid of €30 million (£25 million) to Barcelona earlier this month, was not unaffected by Fermin’s performances.

After giving Lopez a new contract last August, Barcelona declined United’s approach and is eager to extend it once more.

When asked directly about United’s offer, Fermin told Relevo: ‘I don’t read the press, I’m not really interested.

‘The important thing is that I want to be at Barca and I only think about Barca. Nothing else.’

Asked if he has spoke with Barce’a new head coach, Hansi Flick, Fermin said: ‘He wished us all luck in the first game, but that’s about it.

‘A couple of messages and that’s it. I guess he’ll watch the Euros and keep an eye on me.’

Speaking last month before his exit, Xavi urged Barcelona to keep hold of Fermin.

‘We were told that his loan [at Linares] had been very good,’ Xavi said.

‘I had liked him for a couple of years. When we tried him in pre-season, I saw that he was ready to compete. He’s a player for many years.’
