I prefer to Join Man United – Arsenal told they have ‘no chance’ of signing Viktor Gyokeres amid Man Utd claim
Arsenal are set to be in the market for a striker over upcoming transfer windows, but the Gunners have been told they have already missed out on top target Viktor Gyokeres
Former captain William Gallas has predicted that Viktor Gyokeres will join Manchester United, warning Arsenal that they have “no chance” of acquiring the striker.
Since relocating to Sporting Lisbon in 2023, the Swedish star has emerged as one of Europe’s most desirable properties.
In his first season, he scored 43 goals in 50 games, and in 18 games this season, he has already scored 23 goals.
The top teams in Europe are anticipated to compete for the 26-year-old’s services during the summer transfer window.
Gyokeres will probably be linked to Arsenal a lot because many analysts think their team is lacking a quality striker.
Gallas is certainly one of them and he has urged Gunners chiefs to bring in a new forward to take the place of Kai Havertz. But he has warned his former side they need to ignore Gyokeres, with Arsenal having ‘no chance’ signing him.
“Kai Havertz has never ever been the right man to take Arsenal to the Premier League title. Havertz is a good player, but he’s not top class. I’m sorry, but he’s nowhere near a world-class level, Arsenal need a player to replace him at striker,” Gallas told Genting Casino.
“The club needs to wake up, it’s obvious and simple, they need a striker. You need a strong squad to compete with each other, that’s how Man City and Liverpool stay at such a high level, if you have the same starting XI every week then the performances level will drop.
“Arsenal have no chance of signing Viktor Gyokeres, he will choose Man United. Gyokeres will follow Ruben Amorim to Man United, I think Gyokeres would suit Man United’s team too.”
Gyokeres has admitted he is expecting to leave Sporting Lisbon in an upcoming transfer window. He revealed that he was convincined to remain in Portugal last summer, but is ready for a blockbuster move.
“They [Sporting] wanted most of the starting players to stay and held us tight. That’s how it turned out, but I enjoy Sporting very well, so for me it was no problem to stay,” he explained recently.
“It was probably a bit too much because nothing came of it. Of course it’s a lot of money. But we’ll see what happens next window.”
