I like Man united and Dortmund, but I’ll join – Man united transfer target Serhou Guirassy makes final decision over next club amid Dortmund and Chelsea links
Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy has rejected the chance to join Arsenal and has decided to make the move to Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in Germany.
Before the summer transfer market opened, the 28-year-old had garnered a lot of attention due to his 28 goals in the Bundesliga the previous year.
Among the Premier League teams expressing interest in Guirassy were Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United; however, Chelsea withdrew from consideration earlier this week.
Guirassy is free to leave Stuttgart this summer as he has already said that he wants to do so and has a very small release clause of somewhat less than €20 million (£16.9 million).
This week, reports surfaced claiming Dortmund was worried about Arsenal’s potential danger in the signing of Guirassy.
However, Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports that Guirassy has chosen to join Dortmund and has reached an agreement with last season’s Champions League finalists.
The report adds that Dortmund have nearly tripled Guirassy salary, which was worth £65,000 a week at Stuttgart.
Dortmund are also understood to have offered a signing-on fee in excess of €10m (£8.4m), which rival clubs were not prepared to match.
In total, Dortmund’s package including transfer fee, wages and signing-on bonusis worth just over €60m (£50.7m).
Earlier this month, Arsenal were dealt another blow in their search for a new striker as Benjamin Sesko opted to remain at RB Leipzig
