Man Utd ‘on verge of signing Rasmus Hojlund’ with fresh £65m transfer offer
Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Reports in Italy suggest Manchester United are now on the verge of striking an agreement with Atalanta for Rasmus Hojlund with a new written offer set to be submitted ‘in the coming days’.
The Red Devils have been locked in talks with the Serie A club over the Danish frontman for several weeks but it now appears the saga is finally nearing a positive and rewarding conclusion for Erik ten Hag.

United are understood to have submitted a £50million verbal proposal in the past few days but with Paris Saint-Germain also at the table, it was clear they would have to raise their bid to oust their transfer rivals.
Now Sky Italia are reporting that an agreement is seemingly on the verge of completion as United are set to blow their rivals out of the water with an improved offer.
Transfer expert Luca Cilli claimed during a live broadcast that United are set to table £60m upfront plus just short of £5m in bonuses for the Denmark international youngster.
It’s highly likely that the package would be enough to satisfy Atalanta’s demands even though they have previously indicated they would want closer to £80m during discussions.
With Hojlund pressing for the move after already agreeing personal terms with the Red Devils, Atalanta would only be delaying the inevitable if they were to try and hold out for a higher figure that may not necessarily arrive.
United have made it clear they won’t be paying over the odds for the 20-year-old centre-forward and their imminent second bid is the highest they will go during the auction for one of Europe’s hottest talents.
To add to that, Atalanta have now already wrapped up a deal for Hojlund’s replacement in Almeria attacker El-Bilal Toure who begun his medical checks with the Italian club on Friday.
Atalanta are set to pay around £25m for 21-year-old Toure who was also the subject of strong interest from Everton.
Ten Hag’s gruelling wait for a new striker could finally be ended soon and that will enable the Dutchman to release the handbrake with his plans for the new season.
The former Ajax tactican has been using Jadon Sancho as a false-nine during friendlies in attack with Anthony Martial still sidelined through injury. Loanee Wout Weghorst also returned to Burnley earlier this summer.
If United are able to get Hojlund through the door, they will now have a new No.9 to build around for the 2023/24 campaign even if expectations must be managed.
The Scandinavian attacker only managed nine goals in Serie A last season but his numbers in front of goal are expected to explode in the coming years.
Hojlund has rattled in six goals in four Euro 2024 qualifiers for Denmark and he also begged a hat-trick in March during a 3-1 victory over Finland to once again remind United of his quality.
