Manchester United have yet to formally make a decision on whether Erik ten Hag will continue as manager or not after the international break
Manchester United’s co-owners have decided on Erik ten Hag’s fate even though they have not officially announced yet, according to Liverpool icon Graeme Souness.
After a dismal start to the Premier League season, Ten Hag had a target on his back going into the October international break.
Thomas Tuchel is being considered as a Ten Hag backup, according to MEN Sport, which revealed on Monday.
The first two meetings of the week were devoted to discussing the first team’s performances.
Erik Ten Hag’s future has not been discussed on the club’s radio since, and the Manchester Evening News is informed that it is assumed he will be in charge for the Premier League match against Brentford.
While no official line on Ten Hag’s future has been communicated, Souness has told William Hill’s new podcast, Three Up Front that the decision has already been made one way or the other.
“When it comes to whether or not they keep Erik ten Hag, I would think the owners have made their minds up already – unless United turn a major corner soon,” he said. “I don’t know what to make of United anymore.
“We’ve been having the same conversations about them for a decade, but I haven’t seen any improvements, not even under the new ownership. I thought they’d be better this season but they haven’t improved at all.
“And that’s just the playing staff. I’m looking at the people higher up and wondering, are they going to turn Man Utd around?
