According to a report by Moroccan journalist Izem Anass, as cited by SPORTbible, United have ‘reached an agreement’ with Fiorentina to sign midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Sofyan Amrabat is set to join Manchester United and become the club’s third signing of the summer, according to stunning reports.

Man United have reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the transfer for Amrabat, per Moroccan journalist Izem Anass.

His medical has reportedly been scheduled ahead of completing his transfer to Old Trafford.

Amrabat, who reported for Fiorentina training today following an extended break, has a contract that runs until June 2024, with a €30 million (£26 million) price tag mooted.

The 26-year-old, who has been at Fiorentina since 2020, starred at the 2022 World Cup as he enhanced his reputation, which led to an increase of interest across Europe.

Barcelona had expressed a desire to sign the star midfielder following his heroics in Qatar before they opted to snap up Ilkay Gundogan. Atletico Madrid also showed an interest in signing the player.

It appears Man United will now acquire his services ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Amrabat began his professional career in the Netherlands with Utrecht, before joining Feyenoord. He then moved to Club Brugge before penning a deal at Fiorentina, where he has made his name.

A transfer to the Premier League now beckons, with Erik ten Hag set to land another midfielder ahead of the new season.

He will be the club’s third transfer of the summer following the arrivals of Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
