Deal Close – Man Utd ready to agree fresh 6-year deal for Unstoppable Casemiro partner and star midfielder

Manchester United are prepared to hand an improved contract to midfielder Kobbie Mainoo amid his fine breakthrough season with the club.

The 18-year-old made his full Premier League debut in November last year. He has since been a revelation with several stand-out performances.

The teenager has shown plenty of maturity at his tender age and he is currently one of the undisputed starters under manager Erik ten Hag.

It is now reported by The Sun that the club have decided to hand a new deal to Mainoo which will treble his current wages of £20,000-a-week.

Mainoo’s salary rose to £20,000 when his first team appearances hit double figures few months ago.

The club are now set to commit him to a new contract until June 2030. His salary could rise exponentially based on his on field achievements.

Mainoo has the potential to become an elite midfielder
The United graduate had a good start to pre-season, but he picked up an untimely knee injury against Real Madrid in the United States tour.

As a result, he had to wait until late November to make his full league debut, but he has since become a favourite for Ten Hag and the fans.

Mainoo has had a passing accuracy of 85 per cent in the league, winning 52 per cent of his duels.

The youngster has won 1.7 tackles per game alongside 1.6 clearances and 3.3 ball recoveries.

Mainoo has lost possession less than eight times per outing which is quite good at his age.

He should only get better with more experience under his belt.

His ability to play in different midfield positions makes him an ideal fit for United and Ten Hag. Mainoo certainly looks undroppable at the current point of time
