DEAL CLOSE – Erik ten Hag has personally requested the signing of €50m Outstanding Inter Milan striker with Sir Jim Ratcliffe ready to approve deal

Man United manager Erik ten Hag has asked the club to sign Lautaro Martinez.

It feels like the mid-season transfer window has only just slammed shut, though planning for what is a huge summer is already well underway.

Erik ten Hag will need backing, by both Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazer family.

The transfer stories are already flowing, with the latest rumour suggesting a move to sign Lautaro Martinez could be on the cards.

United need someone who can come in and do a reliable back-up job to Rasmus Hojlund. Would Martinez be fine with sitting out some matches here and there? I’m not convinced.
