Bruno Fernandes future at Man United in question as agent ‘opens’ transfer talks
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes continues to attract transfer interest from Bayern Munich, and the German giants have now made their move for the midfield maestro
Manchester United could lose the services of Bruno Fernandes this summer with the midfielder’s agent reportedly holding talks with Bayern Munich.
Fernandes, 29, has been one of United’s most influential players since joining the club in 2020, but that hasn’t deterred other clubs from targeting the Portugal international in recent weeks.
It’s been widely reported that Bayern Munich hold an interest in the Manchester United captain, who is under contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2026 – and the German giants have now seemingly made their move.
As first revealed by Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho, has opened talks with Bayern ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The report also outlines that Barcelona are monitoring the situation and could join Bayern in making an approach for the player, who has scored 79 goals and contributed a further 65 assists in 232 appearances for the Red Devils since joining from Sporting Lisbon.
Speculation over Fernandes’ future, and the possibility that he could move on from Old Trafford after four-and-a-half years, has ramped up in recent weeks.
And while it is anticipated that Manchester United are open to selling players this summer, it remains to be seen if they would entertain offers for such a key figure.
Fernandes himself had been coy over his future in recent weeks, stressing he would not think about such things until after Euro 2024.
He did, however, go on record to stress that he wants to stay at Old Trafford before United’s victory in the FA Cup final against Manchester City last weekend.
Fernandes conducted an in-depth interview with The Player’s Tribune in the build-up to that match and dropped the clearest hint yet over his future, saying:
“I love to step out at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream.
