The Fiorentina star has been frequently linked with a transfer to Man United and a breakthrough has reportedly happened.

Manchester United have reportedly agreed in principle the £30million transfer of Fiorentina midfielder Soyfan Amrabat.

United are targeting Rasmus Hojlund as their next signing with the club confident of bringing the striker in before the start of the season.

Funds from sales will need to be raised for a transfer with most of Erik ten Hag’s budget spent on Andre Onana and Mason Mount.

Amrabat would be seen as a bonus acquisition, should there be enough money to spend. Sport Italia (via the Express) claims United have agreed to match Fiorentina’s asking price for Amrabat, who was of interest to Ten Hag in January after starring for Morocco at the World Cup.

The Italian club are said to be ready to accept the £30m offer should it be formally tabled. United are considering the exits of Scott McTominay and Fred, who are of interest to West Ham and Fulham, respectively.

It’s unlikely both will be let go to avoid a thinning of the ranks but Ten Hag may take up the sale of one in order to facilitate new arrivals.

United have already seen a number of exits with Zidane Iqbal, Ethan Laird, Alex Telles and Anthony Elanga drumming up more than £20m between them.

Now, the Northern Echo claims young goalkeeper Nathan Bishop could be the next to leave. The 23-year-old was involved in a collision that left Wrexham striker Paul Mullin hospitalised with a punctured lung in Wednesday’s friendly.

That was his first involvement with the senior side but the 2020 signing seems set to join Sunderland amid an apparent permanent deal being struck. Bishop, the report says, is expected to depart once he arrives back from the US
