BREAKING! – Man United set to offer a massive bid to sign Kylian Mbappe as “record-shattering £259m bid tabled” already as player makes shock and important transfer decision for his future

Kylian Mbappe looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer with Saudi side Al-Hilal sending a formal £259million offer to the Ligue 1 outfit.

Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs who may enter the ‘bidding frenzy’ for Kylian Mbappe after Al-Hilal lodged an eye-watering £259million bid for the French striker.

Saudi’s Public Investment Fund have turned the transfer window on its head with lavish amounts of money spent to lure some of the sport’s biggest stars.

Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Marcelo Brozovic, Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly are among the big-name players to have made the switch to Saudi Arabia.

Most of the stars are in their 30s, with a few exceptions such as former Celtic star Jota.

But Saudi’s attempts to shake up the order have taken a new turn with their official bid to sign Mbappe from PSG.

The Ligue 1 outfit reportedly want to offload Mbappe if the striker is unwilling to sign a new contract and he was unceremoniously axed from the club’s pre-season tour of Japan.

That seemingly piqued the interest of Al-Hilal, who lodged an official bid worth a record-shattering £259m.

PSG are unlikely to turn down the bid but Mbappe would have the final say on whether wants to move to Saudi Arabia.

PSG’s interest in selling Mbappe has alerted clubs all over Europe with the Telegraph naming United as one of the sides to ‘express their interest’.

It’s claimed that many clubs are ‘formulating bids’ in an attempt to test PSG’s resolve.

The report also suggests that a ‘bidding war’ will soon start with Europe’s elite all scrambling to sign Mbappe.

Losing the forward to Saudi Arabia would also be a fresh blow to the European dominance of world football following both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s departures.

‘My son quit Man Utd after 15 years at the club but I couldn’t be more proud’
Ronaldo was the first big-name player to make the jump to Saudi Arabia in January while Messi opted against following his old rival, instead choosing to join MLS side Inter Miami.

“But whether or not clubs in Europe can compete with the financial power of Saudi clubs remains to be seen.

It’s been claimed that Al-Hilal are willing to sign Mbappe on a one-year contract, meaning he’ll be free to move wherever he wants next year.

PSG still believe an agreement is in place for Mbappe to join Real Madrid after a deal broke down 12 months ago.

But Real president Florentino Perez gave nothing away this week when pressed on the club’s interest in Mbappe, telling La Sexta: “I am always calm.”
