Breaking! – Kylian Mbappé names his preferred destination between Liverpool and Real Madrid as the Reds receive £88m transfer boost after PSG President reveals transfer stance
Kylian Mbappé has selected his ideal destination if he moves to the Premier League, while Real Madrid has made two Liverpool transfer targets available.
Kylian Mbappé would sooner join Arsenal than Liverpool if he ever made a move to the Premier League, according to The Independent.
Mbappé has enjoyed the evolution of the Gunners in recent years, having watched them progress from mid-table, to fifth and to shock title contenders last season.
The Frenchman would also relish the task of bringing the Premier League title back to North London, 20 years on from the club’s last title. However, just like with Liverpool, a transfer is seen as ‘way beyond’ Arsenal’s budget, and Mikel Arteta’s side has not initiated contact over a move.
Liverpool has already accepted that a transfer for Mbappé is unrealistic, and the expectation is that he will join Real Madrid on a free transfer next year after telling PSG he would not be extending his contract.
The Reds have held talks with the World Cup-winning attacker on two occasions, first when he left Monaco for Paris and more recently when his previous PSG contract was winding down, but a deal was not possible (via The Telegraph).
Real Madrid open to selling Aurelien Tchouaméni
Real Madrid could be ready to accept an offer of $88m (£68m/€80m) for Aurélien Tchouaméni, journalist Juan Ignacio G-Ochoa has told Radio Marca (via TEAMtalk).
While Los Blancos intends to land Mbappé as a free agent in 2024, PSG is determined to cash in this summer if it can’t convince him to stay.
And should Real Madrid be spurred into action, it will need to find a way to finance a blockbuster deal, having already shelled out $142m (£110m/€129m) on Jude Bellingham, Arda Güler and Fran García.
Sales could be key, with Real Madrid apparently willing to sell either Tchouaméni or Federico Valverde for a fee of between $88m and $110m (£86m/€100m).
Liverpool tried to sign Tchouaméni last summer while he was still at Monaco, but he ultimately chose to move to the Spanish capital instead.
However, according to The Mirror, the Reds retain an interest in the 23-year-old and would make a move if the opportunity cropped up. Intriguingly, they have also been in contact over Valverde (via 90Min), though their first inquiry was quickly rebutted
