Breaking: ‘Arrival at Liverpool’ – The reds keen to sign £60m PSG superstar ‘After reaching agreement’ as Jurgen Klopp continues midfield Rebuild with Neymar backing the star to shine at Anfield

Marco Verratti is reportedly keen on a move to Liverpool this summer.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is understood to be one of many players listed for sale by the French club this summer as they look to reset under new coach, Luis Enrique.

El Nacional have stated Verratti features on Liverpol’s ‘list of priorities’, which Jurgen Klopp is ‘completely happy with’.

The article adds the Italian midfielder has given the ‘OK’ to Klopp and will not wait for Atletico Madrid, who have also recently been linked with a move for Verratti.

All that remains is for the Reds to ‘reach an agreement’ with PSG over a transfer fee, it is stated.

Liverpool very interested in signing PSG star Marco Verratti as asking price revealed

Liverpool are reportedly very interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti as Jurgen Klopp continues his summer re-build.

Klopp has already added Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to his ranks for a combined £95 million this summer, but the Reds boss isn’t finished there.

On the other hand, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, James Milner and Arthur Melo have all left Anfield following the expiration of their contracts.

Meanwhile, midfield duo Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have been heavily rumoured with moves to the Saudi Pro League, leaving Klopp in search of replacements.

Verratti has emerged as a potential option, with Liverpool interested in signing the 30-year-old, according to Spanish news outlet Marca.

The Ligue 1 giants are said be after €70 million (£60m) for the Italy international, a price which may appear steep bearing in mind his age.

Indeed, the signing would go against Klopp’s summer transfer strategy which has seen the German recruit younger players as he looks to build a team for the future.

However, Verratti’s experience would be a major boost for Liverpool and allow Mac Allister and Szoboszlai the freedom to roam forward.

The report adds that one unnamed Premier League side and Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on the player, but the latter may lack the funds to compete with Liverpool should a bidding war arise.

Meanwhile, Verratti, whose contract expires in 2026, may be interested in a move to Anfield, if his past comments are anything to go by.

Speaking in an interview ahead of a Champions League group stage tie between PSG and Liverpool in September 2018, Verratti said (quotes via FourFourTwo):

“Before Liverpool it’s good as we won all our games, but Liverpool will be different. They are a team who play very well at home.

“They have experience in the Champions League as they reached the final last season.

“It’s an important test for us, not decisive but it’s good to start with a complicated game.”
