Bayern Munich take immediate action on €120m-Rated superstar amid strong Man Utd transfer links – Reports

Max Eberl, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, has been in closed meetings with Jamal Musiala.

He has acknowledged that the talks have not gone as well as he had wanted, but there has allegedly been progress.

In response to worries over playmaker Jamal Musiala’s future at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich and the player are moving forward with their contract negotiations.

The 21-year-old’s Bayern contract expires in the summer of 2026, and the club has been keen to lock him down to new terms despite interest from other teams. He is regarded as one of Europe’s most promising midfielders.

Earlier last month sporting director Max Eberl admitted discussions had not gone as smoothly as he had hoped – with the Germany international said to be demanding around £300,000 a week, putting him in the same bracket as star man Harry Kane.

But now Vincent Kompany’s side have started to make a breakthrough in talks, according to German outlet Abendzeitung, with claims there have been some “very positive” talks as Bayern bid to ward off interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Bayern are desperate to keep Musiala, enjoying a superb recent spell after becoming the joint-winner of the Euro 2024 golden boot following three goals in five games at the tournament – and already has three goals and two assists for Bayern this season.

Last season he scored 12 times and registered seven assists as his career continues to go from strength to strength – though a number of clubs have been lurking in the wings should he decide not to renew his Bayern deal.

United star Joshua Zirkzee admitted he tried to tempt Musiala to follow him to Old Trafford this summer – with the player insisting he was happy at Bayern in response.

The club have reportedly placed a valuation of £120million on his head in a bid to fend off interest from other teams. But it’s understood they would even be reluctant to sell at that price – even with his contract situation – and president Herbert Hainer has insisted the club will do “everything they can” to keep him long term.

It comes after Eberl gave an update on the talks with Musiala earlier this month and said talks were “intensifying” – with the club attempting to convince the player about their ambitions to win as much silverware as possible.

“It’s difficult, but not impossible – as Jamal knows what he has at Bayern Munich,” he told Sport1. “He grew up here and has brought himself to this level. Talks are intensifying. We are extremely ambitious and he knows that he wants to win titles.”
