Adrien Rabiot to Man United transfer truth as Erik Ten Hag backed to sign ‘next Frenkie de Jong’ in January

Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday with a trip to Crystal Palace.

With an overall record of 10-0 and no goals allowed, Erik ten Hag’s team has won their previous two games.

Following their heavy summer spending, the Reds will already be keeping an eye out for possible moves during the January transfer window.

This summer, Adrien Rabiot was one player rumored to be heading to Old Trafford.

Despite being free to sign with Marseille in Ligue 1, the French midfielder chose to join the league after being released by Juventus.

A significant barrier keeping Rabiot from signing with a Premier League team has recently been revealed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. He argues that the player demanded too much money in salary.

“There were big, very big proposals from Turkey and Saudi but he only wanted to play in one of the European top leagues,” Romano wrote for Caught Offside. “The Premier League was his dream, but his salary requests were considered too expensive.”

Elsewhere, GIVEMESPORT have claimed that Ineos are ‘so impressed’ with Norwegian prodigy Sverre Nypan that a deal could be brokered in early 2025 to bring him to the club sooner than anticipated. Nypan has been likened to Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong who has been heavily linked with United in the past.

The 17-year-old midfielder has featured in almost 50 Norwegian top-flight games and is said to have impressed United scouts.

It is claimed that a January deal is now possible which would see him loaned back to Rosenborg to gain more playing time.
