Marcus Rashford call made and Amad U-turn – Man United predicted XI vs Wolves, team news and injury updates
On Boxing Day, Man United will play Wolves in an attempt to resume their winning ways, and Ruben Amorim has some important decisions to make.
Manchester United has lost two straight games, and Ruben Amorim’s team needs to win against Wolves to get back on track.
Despite enjoying a new manager bounce, the West Midlands team is among the favorites to be relegated. Last Saturday, Vitor Pereira won his first game as manager against Leicester.
Since taking over the team last month, Amorim has made no fewer than forty-two changes to his United starting lineup, and more are anticipated at Molineux. Leny Yoro will be moved into the back three, and Andre Onana will remain in goal.
Amorim has used Amad as a No.10 in his last three starts after the youngster was used as a right wing-back in the opening weeks of the Portuguese’s reign.
United’s full-backs have struggled to provide the width needed in Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation since Amad was pushed further up the field and so it’s time for the United boss to move his star man back to wing-back
Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte should be United’s first choice midfield but they’ve struggled to gel. That will come with time and so they should retain their places at Molineux. Noussair Mazraoui had a rare off-day against Bournemouth but his performances this season have been good and he deserves to start at left wing-back.
Joshua Zirkzee’s poor display against the Cherries means Rasmus Hojlund should come back into the team. Bruno Fernandes should always start when available and he can join Alejandro Garnacho in supporting Hojlund.
Marcus Rashford should not play for the club again despite Amorim revealing at his pre-Wolves press conference that the forward still wants to play for United.
Predicted United XI: Onana; Yoro, De Ligt, Maguire; Amad, Ugarte, Mainoo, Mazraoui; Fernandes, Hojlund, Garnacho
