Matheus Cunha agrees terms with Man United, shirt number revealed with announcement next week -Reports

Matheus Cunha’s shirt number at Manchester United has been revealed, and an announcement about his transfer is expected next week.

Manchester United’s summer has kicked off at pace, with Rúben Amorim already making bold decisions about the squad he wants for next season.

Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, and Victor Lindelöf will all depart when their contracts expire next month, while Amorim has reportedly informed Alejandro Garnacho that he is free to find a new club.

The Portuguese coach is aiming to strengthen in several key areas, with attacking reinforcements and a new midfielder high on the agenda.

United’s recruitment team are focused on bringing in players who can better cope with the Premier League’s physical intensity—an area where Amorim’s teams have previously struggled.

Cunha finalises personal terms with United

With United looking to secure Matheus Cunha as soon as possible, it has now been reported that personal terms between the club and player have been agreed.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, United and Cunha have agreed on personal terms on a five-year contract at Old Trafford. Other reports state that United will also have the option to extend this by another season.

Cunha’s representatives have engaged in positive talks with Unite over the last month, and with personal terms now agreed, the club will approach Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding his transfer fee.

Although he has a £62.5 million release clause, United hopes to be able to pay this in several instalments rather than in one lump sum. Wolves seem happy to negotiate on this proposal, and an announcement is likely to come next week.
