Jonas Olsson and Daniel Nannskog have backed Swedish attacking sensation Viktor Gyokeres to join Manchester United.

As of Monday, Ruben Amorim is the official new manager of Manchester United.

He is anticipated to alter their style of play in a number of ways, and ultimately, there may be numerous personnel changes.

The top players at Sporting CP, the Portuguese manager’s old team, are well-suited to the kind of game he wants to play.

A gentleman’s agreement between the 39-year-old and his old team states that United will not attack the Portuguese team in January. However, they will undoubtedly target some of their most valued assets come summertime.

The Red Devils have been associated with Viktor Gyökeres on a regular basis. Although they have added two young strikers to their roster in the recent windows, they haven’t been that great in the final third of the pitch and the Swedish international could certainly take their attack to the next level.

Gyokeres to join Manchester United
Gyokeres’ compatriot Jonas Olsson spoke quite highly about the 26-year-old following his hattrick against Manchester City in the Champions League and he even backed him to join the City’s arch-rivals United in the near future.

He said via SportsWitness: “It won’t get bigger. That should make all the doubters stop doubting. The argument from the doubters has been that he only delivers in the Portuguese league. But now he has shown that he can deliver against the best opposition in the Champions League. So, he’s for real,”

“As he has a buyout clause of around SEK 1 billion, only the biggest clubs can buy him. United are probably the obvious one, but Real Madrid also feels like an alternative,”

The former West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic central defender believes Gyokeres can only join a big club given the release clause in his contract and United seem to be an ideal destination for him.

Meanwhile, former Sweden international Daniel Nannskog feels the Red Devils are the best option for Gyokeres to take the next step in his career because of Amorirm.

The football pundit said: “It’s easy to think of Manchester United, because his coach [Amorim] is going there. He knows exactly how to use Gyökeres in the best way,”

Amorim has brought the best out of Gyokeres who bagged 43 goals and 15 assists in his debut season at Sporting. He continued in a similar fashion during the 2024/25 season scoring 23 goals and racking up four assists in his 18 outings.

Nannskog believes the Portuguese manager knows exactly how to use the Swedish striker and he could flourish under him at United
