Joshua Zirkzee sends emotional message after completing Man United transfer

Joshua Zirkzee has sent an emotional message to Bologna after completing a transfer to Manchester United.

On Sunday afternoon, it became official that Zirkzee had signed a permanent deal with United from the Serie A team.

In order to sign Zirkzee, United has agreed to pay €42.5 million (£36.5 million), which is €2.5 million (£2.2 million) more than the release clause in his contract.

Rather than paying the fee all at once as would have been required under the release clause, the Reds will pay it in installments over a three-year period.

Now, the 23-year-old has sent an emotional message to his former club Bologna

“Grazie, rossoblu. I can’t really find the words to explain how much you all mean to me,” Zirkzee wrote in an emotional message on Instagram

“The stadium, the city, this team, but especially the PEOPLE will always have a special place in my heart.

“I hope, that for all the support and trust that you gave me, I have given something back in return. Bologna is finally where it belongs and I will support and cheer for you from a distance! Ti Amo [I love you], Bolo. Forever (two heart emojis].”
